This interiors project was designed and constructed in phases, ultimately involving the redesign of the majority of both floors of this residence in a close-in Virginia neighborhood. Much of the previous layout was either removed or selectively modified to reflect the needs of the client, and included work at the foyer, living and dining rooms, kitchen, halls, multiple bedrooms and baths, a steam shower and a family room.
Given the house's siting on a sloping lot, some portions of the house are windowless, thus mandating an added emphasis on selecting materials that would lighten, relieve or otherwise enhance the various rooms. This effort culminates at the main floor where the now visually contiguous kitchen, dining and living rooms enjoy views to a new media wall.
